In memory of Coach Woodson Earle

Woodson Earle, 85, passed away in Lexington, Mississippi on November 3, 2013.

Known as "Coach Earle" for his legendary coaching success at schools in the Lexington area, Woodson Earle graduated from Delta State University Teacher's College in 1951.  During his student years, Coach Earle was President of the Student Body, played football and tennis, and was President of the Physical Education Club.  As an alumnus, he was a recipient of the Delta State University Alumni Association's Service Award.

With accolades as a coach and instructor, Coach Earle's greatest achievement was the ability to enable all of his students to fulfill their own personal dreams. Coach Woodson Earle's legacy as an outstanding educator is cherished by scores of his former students, and the scholarship fund which bears his name will, forever, serve as proper recognition of his positive impact on so many young men and women.
